Live Blog:
Doug welcomed us all to the event, explaining that Ted is a phenomenon and Columbus certainly gets it. This forum is a way to celebrate the people in our own community who have ideas.
It was said that before the fall of Rome, the people of Rome had lost their “inner go.” That is not the case in Columbus! Wonderland, Columbus Underground and the slow food movement are all important dimensions to inner go in the Capital City.
Columbus offers the opportunity for mobility. Young people looking to make a difference should avoid cities controlled by squelchers. We live in a community where those opportunities are open; not squelched.
Each of us should take a personal stake in that inner go. Doug offered us the opportunity to meet our neighbors in the audience and to thank them for coming and sharing their inner go.
It has been said that “Places with clear aspirations have a better chance to succeed than those with a clear memories of their past.”
We all have a responsibility to keep that inner go alive and open to new views. Let the ideas begin!
