Here’s what we’re looking for:
  • 100 inspired youth “Change agents” (current 9th grade to 12th grade) who will be invited to join our audience for a morning of remarkable speakers and performers. All attendees will fill out an application based on a) their interest in the TEDx concept and b) an inspired idea they have to make a positive impact on our community and the world at large.   • 10-15 speakers + performers (no older than 25) will take the stage in the morning. Going along with the theme of “A Moment in Time”, we’re curious about young people who have already created or launched something based on a great idea they had. And what it took to go from great idea to something real. –> Note: Ideally we’re looking for young people 18 and under who have an amazing idea, story or project that will inspire others to ‘act’ (or young adults up to the age of 25 who started an extraordinary project before they became an adult).   • Passionate professional mentors and facilitators who will work with the 100 youth “Change Agents” in the afternoon (and maybe beyond the event itself). We’re curious what happens when we create a pop-up ‘incubator’ for a few hours to help young people develop a great idea into something that actually has an impact on our community and the world at large.   • Planning team members to collaborate on the development of the event over time. This can mean anything from becoming a formal member who helps to co-run the event behind the scenes to a day-of volunteer. Ideally, we’ll find a way to customize your role based on your passion / ability / availability. And we hope that 50% of our planning team are youths (although we also love our ‘elders’, too).
